The Humble Plank

A focused plank timer with reminders, progress history, maps, groups, and a 30-day challenge.

The problem

A small daily exercise can disappear inside a large fitness platform. Starting a plank should not require navigating workout plans, feeds, coaching, and setup screens.

The motivation

The idea was deliberately humble: make it easy to start one plank, remember to come back tomorrow, and see the work add up.

The approach

The app opens around the timer and supports both stopwatch and countdown sessions. Accounts are optional, while history, reminders, locations, groups, and challenges can add structure when wanted.

What shipped

  • Stopwatch and countdown plank timers.
  • Daily reminders and completed-plank history.
  • Planking without an account.
  • Optional locations and a map of past sessions.
  • Groups for shared progress.
  • A guided 30-day plank challenge.

Status and lessons

The Humble Plank is live on the App Store. Its useful constraint remains the same: help with one repeatable action instead of expanding into a general fitness platform.
