Learnalist

A calm place to save words, quotes, ideas, and notes—then see them again when it matters.

The problem

Useful words, quotes, and ideas are easy to capture and just as easy to forget. Traditional flashcard tools can feel like a study system that needs managing rather than a calm place for things worth remembering.

The motivation

Learnalist began with a small need: capture translations such as “sjokolade = chocolate” and bring them back at useful moments. It grew into a home for vocabulary, quotes, facts, images, and ideas.

The approach

The rhythm stays intentionally small: add something, see it again, remember it. Recall timing adapts from minutes to months, while practice lists and Doodle Recall offer more active ways to revisit difficult material.

What shipped

  • Notes for words, phrases, translations, quotes, facts, and images.
  • Spaced reminders without constant noise.
  • Search, practice lists, Unjumble, and freehand Doodle Recall.
  • Sharing as images, videos, or PDFs.
  • Custom backgrounds and flexible review timing.

Status and lessons

Learnalist is live and actively developed. The most useful lesson has been that remembering tools can stay calm: the app should bring something back at the right moment, then get out of the way.
